The New York Knicks are one of the more pleasant surprises for NBA fans this season. While they played good basketball with Jalen Brunson last season, only a few expected the team to synergize to the point of finishing the regular season second in the East.

Due to this, the expectation among New York fans have gone even higher. There’s even an argument going around that the Knicks can take down the Celtics in a seven-game series after the surprising beatdown the team handed the C’s during their final regular-season game.

However, one former NBA player called out fans who expect too much out of the Knickerbockers, going so far to claim that the Knicks fanbase is among the most delusional in the league.

Eddie House calls out New York Knicks fans for believing team can beat the Boston Celtics

Eddie House was a journeyman NBA player who played for nine franchises. He spent three years with the Celtics and is familiar with the culture surrounding the organization.

During his most recent appearance on The Carton Show, he called out Knicks fans for seriously thinking the Knicks can take down the Boston Celtics in a seven-game series when both teams have enough time to prepare against their opponents.

From the final standings alone, it’s clear that the Boston Celtics is the best team in the NBA as they lead all teams with a 64-18 record. Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown have become an unstoppable duo that can do whatever they want on the floor.

Can the New York Knicks take down the Boston Celtics?

The regular-season record between the two teams may ponit to the Celtics getting the edge over the Knicks. In the five games they played this season, four were won by the Knicks.

However, momentum is a big thing in basketball, and the Knicks would be enterting the postseason with supreme confidence. The way Jalen Brunson and the rest of the roster manhandled the C’s during their final regular-season clash shows encouraging signs for Knicks fans.

Moreover, Jaylen Brown has developed a reputation of fading out in the postseason in recent years, and this will greatly help the Knicks if he doesn’t shake the accusations off.

It will be interesting to see how the two teams would square up in the playoffs, but they would only cross paths in the Eastern Conference Finals. With plenty of strong teams still in the running, it would do a lot of good for the Knicks and Celtics to focus on the task at hand.
