Warriors’ Draymond Green Reveals Hilarious Thoughts On Play-In
Bob Kupbens-USA TODAY Sports

Golden State Warriors star forward Draymond Green has never been shy about sharing his opinion throughout his NBA career. He is as boisterous as anyone on the court and off of it, he has ventured into the world of podcasting.

Green hosts a popular podcast that covers several topics, most of which are about basketball and the NBA. In a recent episode, the topic of discussion was the NBA Play-In Tournament, which Green and the Warriors will be partaking in.

Golden State finished the season in 10th place, which means they will be heading on the road for an elimination game. They will travel to take on the Sacramento Kings in a matchup that is turning into quite a rivalry.

Last year, the teams faced off in the first round of the playoffs, which the Warriors won in seven games. This season, they split the four meetings they had and three out of the four games were decided by a single point.

Tuesday night’s matchup should be another good one with their playoff hopes on the line. The winner of the game will face off against the loser of the first matchup between the Los Angeles Lakers and New Orleans Pelicans. The losers will have their season ended.

Green admits that the NBA Play-In Tournament is something that is incredible for fans. It creates more games with a playoff atmosphere and leads to the end of the regular season having a ton on the line. But, as a player, the tournament is terrible.

Green’s assessment is pretty spot on. Fighting for the seventh or eighth seed in an 82-game regular season only to have another game you have to win to make the playoff field is a tough pill to swallow. Especially with how much of a gauntlet the Western Conference was this season with two teams that won at least 46 games going to miss the playoffs.

Your reward for winning two games in the NBA Play-In Tournament if you are the Warriors or Kings? A matchup with the No. 1 seed Oklahoma City Thunder, who have been one of the best teams in the league throughout the season.
